“Free to Behave”

Ivan Limas, A solo art exhibition.

Opening reception Wednesday Sept. 22nd from 6-8:30pm.

There will also be an artist talk on Saturday October 30th at 4pm

New works including paintings, photographs, mixed media. Graduate of Claremont University (MFA), this is the first major solo exhibition for this artist.

Working through sculpture, painting, video, photography, and performance, Ivan redirects perspectives of subcultural and institutional identities. Ivan re-creates and represents everyday imagery and icons to propose a political dialogue in which viewers become active participants.

The sixth in our fabulous series of critical conversations about contemporary art issues. This panel includes Jay Belloli, Peter Frank, Shana Nys Dambrot (who curated “The Bigger Picture” exhibition currently on view at EVFA) & moderator Betty Ann Brown. Panelists will discuss Eakins show at LACMA, Gerome at Getty, Hopper at MOCA & “The Bigger Picture.” They will also address various curatorial concepts & practices.
